Presenting ‘Mustang Odyssey – Winterfall’ – The second edition of what turned out to be India’s first own-vehicle self-drive convoy based expedition to Upper Mustang region in Nepal.
Lo Manthang is the walled ancient capital of the erstwhile Kindgom of Lo in the north of Nepal. Because of its location on an isolated rugged plateau hidden behind snow-capped Himalayan giants, Upper Mustang is considered to be one of the best-preserved examples of Tibetan culture in the world.
Given the extremely rugged trail to reach the town – considered by many as the toughest offroad highway in the world – apart from the hefty permit fee that one has to endure in order to reach here, it is no surprise that hardly any Indians have made it to Upper Mustang so far!
The Mustang Odyssey – Winterfall is self-drive expedition that will travel from New Delhi to Lo Manthang in Nepal and back to India in a span of 10 days, while exploring the spirit of Nepali and Tibetan cultures all along the route and conquering some of the toughest terrains known to mankind.
